Optimization of the thin-walled rod with an open profile

The purpose of this study is to develop optimization of the cross-section of the inhomogeneous thin-walled rod with an open profile compared to the traditionally used homogeneous. The idea of the developed method of optimization is to determine the law of variation of the elasticity modulus, at which the stress across the cross-section “aligned” and approaching to a constant value. Thus, it is possible to use all material of rod, which leads to optimization of its structure, i.e. an increase efficiency of rod.
