The role of parameters of smallness in deduction of approximated theories for deterministic dynamics of beams

This paper considers the role played by the order of magnitude of terms involved in the equations of motion of a geometrically exact beam theory. Upon introducing a smallness parameter, a procedure for derivation of approximated models is sketched.
