ICMFF12
Foreword
This book is the proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Multiaxial Fatigue and Fracture (ICMFF12), organised in Bordeaux (France) from June 24 to June 26, 2019 by SF2M (French Society for Metallurgy and Materials).
Organised By
The aim of this conference was to share the latest developments in multiaxial fatigue and fracture by scientists and engineers from all over the world. New researches as well as applications in industry were of interest. This conference was a good opportunity for experimentalists, theoreticians, industrial practitioners and academic experts to discuss current progress and to build a bridge between their areas of expertise. Presentations on experimental set-ups, material characterization, analytical models, numerical models, etc. were all welcome.
After Seville in 2016, this was the 12th edition in a series of successful conferences dedicated to this topic. This cycle of conferences started in 1982 with the International Conference on Biaxial and Multiaxial Fatigue and Fracture (ICBMFF) in the USA, and became ICMFF for its 8th edition in Sheffield (2007):
ICBMFF1, San Francisco, USA (1982)
ICBMFF2, Sheffield, UK (1985),
ICBMFF3, Stuttgart, Germany (1989),
ICBMFF4, St. Germain-en-Laye, France (1994),
ICBMFF5, Cracow, Poland (1997),
ICBMFF6, Lisbon, Portugal (2001),
ICBMFF7, Berlin, Germany (2004),
ICMFF8, Sheffield, UK (2007),
ICMFF9, Parma, Italy (2010),
ICMFF10, Kyoto, Japan (2013),
ICMFF11, Seville, Spain (2016),
ICMFF12, Bordeaux, France (2019).
Around 200 researchers and engineers from 32 countries, including 51 participants from industry and 6 exhibitors (3R, Enerfast, Grindosonic, MTS, IRT Jules Verne, Zwick-Roëll) attended the conference.
The programme was organised with 4 plenary sessions (Prof. Fionn DUNNE, Prof. Masahiro ENDO, Prof. Ali FATEMI, Prof. Michael VORMWALD) and 4 keynote lectures (Dr. Ida RAOULT, Dr. Véronique DOQUET, Prof. José Alexander ARAÚJO, Prof. David NOWELL) together with 17 sessions on the following topics.
