Along with the rapid progress of technology and the mounting demand for analysis, electrochemical sensing technology has become an important branch in the field of analytical chemistry. Electrochemical sensors have received much attention on account of their high sensitivity, fast-response, and portability. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) materials, especially metal organic frameworksmolecular imprinting polymers (MOFs-MIPs) that combine molecular imprinting techniques (MIPs), exhibit unique pore structures, good chemical stability, and various functionalization methods. MOFs-MIPs have shown great potential in improving the sensitivity and selectivity of electrochemical sensors, which makes it a research hotspot in the field of electrochemical sensors. This article outlines the application progress of MOFs-MIPs electrochemical sensors in environmental detection, drug analysis, clinical drug monitoring, and food safety. Firstly, this paper gives a brief introduction to MOFs materials. Then, the application progress of MOFs-MIPs electrochemical sensor in environmental detection, drug analysis, clinical drug monitoring and food safety was reviewed. By analyzing the existing literature, this paper summarizes the mechanism of MOFs-MIPs enhancing the performance of electrochemical sensors. Finally, this work points out the current challenges and the future development direction. In summary, MOFs-MIPs have broad application prospects in the field of electrochemical sensors and are expected to provide new impetus for technological progress in related fields.
