The wall segments are formed using additive layer-on-layer technology. The concrete mix is therefore laid in layers and the final desired element is gradually formed. The manufactured columns are all of different shapes and reinforcements. The columns are adapted for lateral load testing, whereby they are subjected to three-point bending when loaded in service. A stress of 1 MPa is transmitted to these columns and the columns are progressively loaded with a horizontal force. The test is primarily to determine how much stress these columns can carry in the wall plane in tension bending. The results of the measurements are compared with brick masonry.
