Abstract
Calcium phosphate ceramics (hydroxyapatite, tricalcium phosphate) are commonly used as synthetic bone graft substitutes. The development of new ceramic implants with improved performances requires the mastering of many chemical and physical parameters involved in their processing: synthesis of specific powders, shaping of complex architectures, sintering and functionalization. This paper illustrates a few examples of the work in the field of processes of these calcium phosphate bioceramics for applications in bone tissue engineering.
