Abstract
In this paper a MATLAB-based Graphical User Interface is designed for the sophisticated modeling and hydraulic and quality analysis of water distribution networks. By the integration of various computational modules the interface allows the construction of complex water networks providing information about nodes, pipes, Hydraulic tanks and heads while produce Static and Transient Hydraulic analyses as well as Multi-Species Water Quality assessments. The framework utilizes mathematical algorithms such as the Global Gradient Algorithm, the Method of lines for pressure wave analysis etc. The results are compared with the respective results of EPANET. The proposed tool serves as a bridge for theoretical – practical validation and it is very helpful for monitoring and for developing software-sensor-oriented capabilities for Water Distribution Networks.
